The festive season is nearly upon us which can only mean one thing. The aroma of mulled wine is in the air, carol singing abounds and fairy lights adorn our streets. And what better way to start the festive season than a trip to one of the many Christmas markets.

All over the UK there are plenty of Christmas markets filled with décor, delicious food, and family fun. So here are 5 markets for you to enjoy with your family.

Winter Wonderland – London

Nothing will get you into the Christmas spirit more than a trip to Winter Wonderland. This annual Christmas market is an epic celebration of all things festive. You’ll find winter markets, exciting funfair rides for all ages, ice skating, winter food, and of course a chance to meet Santa in his grotto. And if that isn’t enough for you, you and your family can visit the Magical Ice Kingdom, and watch the wonderful Zippos Christmas Circus.

German Christmas Market – Birmingham

Birmingham’s Christmas market has become an iconic part of the city. Situated in the heart of the city centre, this event brings together a range of different markets with hundreds of stalls offering everything from quirky gifts to delicious refreshments. The best part is that it’s open right up to Christmas Eve, so you’ve got plenty of time to pick up some last minute gifts, or simply kick off the festive season in style.

Christmas Market – Manchester

The Christmas markets in Manchester are some of the biggest in the UK and opened in 1999. Located in Albert Square, in front of the Manchester Town Hall, it promises to be one of the best. Victorian Christmas Fayre – Worcester

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Worcester’s Victorian-themed Christmas market is unlike any other you have visited! Prepare to go back in time as you wander among 200 stalls filled with festive decorations, stunning jewellery, and of course, mulled wine with roasted chestnuts. Stall-owners are dressed in traditional Victorian clothing and there are many choir performances and dance shows throughout the day. And if you’re lucky, you may see a juggling stilt walker!
