Thinking (or just saying) you’re too busy for a work out is one of the most common excuses around; experts recommend that we exercise for 30-minutes five times a week, so get set to make space in your diary. For lots of us, lunch breaks are a quick dash to the shops followed by an al desko lunch, whereas this can be the ideal slot for a moderate workout. Go on a brisk half-hour walk on your lunchtime! Do this every day and you’ll soon see and feel the difference all over.
Running is a great way to stay active, but not everyone can slide on their sneakers and run constantly for 30-minutes, don’t forget it’s fine to slow down to a brisk walk if you get a stitch or need to catch your breathe. But try not to come to a complete stop – it only makes it more difficult! Feeling super-active? Step it up a notch and go for a run.
Probably not advisable to those who don’t have shower facilities in the office! Keep this up three or four times a week and you’ll soon be in shape for summer.

Forgotten the stairs exist, and started a love affair with the lift? Time to break it off! Go up and down the stairs at a moderate pace to burn extra calories and give your quads, hamstring, glutes and calves a work time workout.
You spend most of your day sitting down; why not try a wall sit? Stand with your back against the wall, bend your knees and slide down the wall until your knees are at a 90 degrees and parallel with the floor. Hold for 60-seconds.
Do this every day to strengthen your leg and core muscles. Whatever work out you choose, the most important thing to remember – don’t give up. Stick with it and your jeans will go from stretched to the extreme to a perfect-fitting dream in no time at all!
